The Second International Conference on the Safe Transition toward Artificial Intelligence

On 11/11/2025, the Second International Conference on the Safe Transition toward Artificial Intelligence for Systems Integration concluded its activities. The conference was organized by the International Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology Competency Training, under the patronage of H.E. Ali bin Khalfan Al-Hassani, Member of the Shura Council and representative of Wilayat Bausher, with broad participation from experts, researchers, academics, and decision-makers from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.

The conference was held as part of ongoing efforts to promote the principles of secure digital transformation and to strengthen the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence technologies across vital sectors, keeping pace with the rapid global developments in this field. The event served as a specialized scientific platform for exchanging expertise and showcasing international best practices in data governance, information security, and intelligent systems integration.

Throughout its scientific sessions, the conference addressed several strategic themes, including the latest developments in cybersecurity, mechanisms for protecting sensitive data in advanced digital environments, and the applications of digital twins in supporting sustainable development projects and improving operational efficiency. The presented papers also examined the legal and regulatory dimensions of AI adoption, particularly within legislative institutions and high-sensitivity sectors, emphasizing the importance of balancing innovation with ethical and legal compliance.

The conference also featured interactive practical workshops that focused on maintaining a human-centered approach to digital transformation, reinforcing the principle that technology should empower people rather than replace them. Specialists shared practical case studies on integrating AI solutions within startup ecosystems, as well as in healthcare services to enhance diagnostics and medical management efficiency, providing participants with applicable real-world models.

At the conclusion of the event, a set of key recommendations was issued, highlighting the importance of developing a comprehensive national strategy for the safe transition toward Artificial Intelligence. This strategy should be grounded in clear governance frameworks, risk management principles, and national capacity building. The recommendations further emphasized strengthening collaboration between academic institutions, technology entities, and both public and private sectors to build an integrated and sustainable digital ecosystem.

The outcomes also called for the development of a unified national document under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, to harmonize efforts and establish supportive regulatory frameworks for safe transformation. Additionally, the “Indimaj” platform was announced to go live in January 2026, with conference participants granted a one-year complimentary subscription to support continued learning and professional development.

Further recommendations included expanding AI applications in the transportation and smart agriculture sectors, encouraging international partnerships and agreements to accelerate safe transformation and technical knowledge exchange, and publishing the second edition of the book “The Safe Transition toward Artificial Intelligence for Systems Integration” through the “Indimaj” platform as a scientific reference for researchers and decision-makers.

The conference concluded with a recognition ceremony honoring speakers, sponsors, and participants by the event patron, in appreciation of their valuable contributions. The event reflected a high level of organization and engagement, reaffirming the organizing institution’s commitment to fostering a secure digital environment that supports innovation while sustaining development amid the accelerating global transition toward Artificial Intelligence.
